well when you wash them turn them inside out. that helps too

Ironing won’t really do much for them. The simplest way to keep them ‘dark’ and ‘new’ looking is to wash them with inside out and the most important thing is to hang them up in the shade. Don’t hang them out where the sun is going to be on them or it will make the color fade out alot. Cheers!
